As part of the “towards tomorrow – European Bike Show 2027”, we collect, process and transfer (hereinafter referred to collectively as “processing”) data that is considered personal data (“Personal Data”) under the European General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”).

2. Data processing when visiting the website
2.1. Purpose and legal basis of processing
The purpose of processing is the technical provision of the website as well as compliance with data-protection security requirements when accessing the website.
The legal basis for processing the technically required data is the legitimate interest of the congress organisers pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR in enabling technical access to the website and ensuring the website’s security. Insofar as cookies that are not strictly technically necessary are used on the website, they are only set on the basis of your consent pursuant to Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with Section 25(1) TDDDG. You can withdraw your consent at any time via the cookie banner provided on the website. The website may embed social media plugins (e.g. from Youtube, Instagram, LinkedIn or X). When you call up a page that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the servers of the respective provider. This gives the provider the information that you have accessed the relevant page of the website. If you are logged in to the respective service, the provider can associate the visit with your account. Responsibility for data-protection-compliant operation rests with the respective provider. We embed these plug-ins using the so-called two-click method in order to protect visitors to our website as effectively as possible.

3.1. Purpose and legal basis of processing
If you register for the “towards tomorrow – European Bike Show 2027”, ZIV / ZR process your Personal Data in order to send you regular information about the European Bike Show (e.g. start of ticket sales). The legal basis for this processing is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

3.2. Categories of data processed
During registration and ticket booking, the following categories of data may be processed:
- Surname, first name
- Email address
- Company/organisation and professional function
6. Supporters
If you have decided to become a supporter of the trade show, the company logo will be published on the trade show’s website.
7. Contacting us
If you contact ZIV / ZR via the contact options provided on the website (e.g. contact form, email), ZIV / ZR process the Personal Data you provide for the purpose of handling and responding to your enquiry. The legal basis is the legitimate interest of the congress organisers in responding to enquiries pursuant to Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Insofar as your enquiry is aimed at concluding a contract, the legal basis is additionally Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.
8. Data recipients
As part of data processing, Personal Data may be transferred to the following recipients:
- Hosting provider of the website (as a processor), providers of cookie and analytics tools (insofar as consented to) as well as providers of social media plugins (insofar as consented to). For details of the respective providers, please refer to the cookie banner.
- IT service providers and email providers in the course of handling general contact enquiries;
The data is processed exclusively within the territory of the European Economic Area; no transfer to a third country takes place.
9. Data retention
The Personal Data collected is stored by the congress organisers only for as long as is necessary to achieve the respective purpose of processing, or as required by statutory retention obligations. As soon as the data is no longer required for the respective purpose and no statutory retention obligations preclude deletion, the data is deleted or anonymised in a manner that no longer permits identification of the data subject.
10. Your rights
You have the right to obtain information from the congress organisers about the processing of your personal data, including a copy of the data processed about you, and to request that the congress organisers rectify inaccurate or incomplete personal data concerning you, or erase it. Where applicable, you may request the restriction of the processing of your data. You may also request that your data be transmitted in a machine-readable format to another controller.
Insofar as you have given us your consent for processing, you have the right to withdraw that consent at any time with effect for the future and free of charge. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on the consent before its withdrawal and/or on other legal grounds.
You may object to the processing of your personal data based on the legitimate interests of the congress organisers. Unless your objection is directed exclusively against direct marketing by the congress organisers, you must demonstrate that you are in a particular situation that makes the processing of your personal data on the basis of legitimate interests unreasonable for you. The objection does not affect the lawfulness of processing on other legal grounds.
